Atomic USA Selects Dharma eUnifyTM For Wireless Integration

Leading ski manufacturer to streamline and integrate palm based sales and distribution applications with legacy systems

Nashua, NH -- May 15, 2001 --- Dharma Systems, a developer and marketer of application integration technology, announced today that the US headquarters of Atomic, the world’s second largest ski brand, has chosen Dharma’s eUnify technology to provide the bridge between Atomic’s legacy systems and front-end applications. eUnify will allow Atomic USA to have real-time exchange between wireless devices used by the field sales group and the company’s back-end systems. Real-time access will provide Atomic USA a competitive advantage by eliminating costly manual processes and data entry while improving sales and customer service efficiency and functionality.

Dharma Systems’ eUnify product will automate Atomic’s custom sales management system that runs on hand-held computers by linking its applications with its internal AS/400 system. Atomic’s decision to implement eUnify has allowed them to achieve real-time access between their mobile sales force and the home office, reduced costs by eliminating manual order processing time and manual errors, and allowed them to derive new value from their legacy systems infrastructure. “The time and money we are saving by using Dharma eUnify is significant,” said Mike Williams, IT Director at Atomic USA. “Entering orders to our AS/400 has gone from a manual and cumbersome process to an automated process that takes a fraction of the time.”

In addition to the immediate priority of order automation, Atomic plans to use the Dharma technology as the hub for an enterprise-wide CRM system that will encompass all sales, customer service, credit, warehousing and distribution functions. Atomic wanted to be certain that the initial solution they selected would carry over to future legacy integration endeavors. “We were originally concerned about altering our IT environment and losing all the power and capacity of the legacy systems we had invested so much time and money in developing,” said Randy Loubier, Senior VP at Atomic. “Our business has so much riding on our legacy systems so the cutting edge technology of Dharma is a perfect fit because it leaves our systems untouched and focuses on the Web environment.”

“Atomic USA realizes the important role that real-time process and application integration plays in maximizing sales and customer service productivity and efficiency,” said J. Sasidhar, President of Dharma Systems. “The underlying benefit of Dharma eUnify is that it simplifies the process of web to legacy integration while extending the reach of the business without making any changes to the current business rules, processes and information.”
